Movie Review: I Am Legend
Will Smith plays as Robert Neville, a high ranking military scientist who is immune to the virus that has killed 5.4 billion people. This virus came from the cure to cancer. This cure eventually killed the people who used it and created a super virus that ran rampant through the earth killing 98% of the population. The remaining are called "infected" who survive in the dark and are not able to come out when the sun is shining.
It has been almost three years since human kind went nearly extinct and Neville has been in hiding all this time. Through out those three years he has been doing experiments trying to find a cure which is in his own blood. I Am Legend picks up with Neville cruising through a vacant New York City, trying to survive and hoping for any survivors. Neville catches an "infected" to begin human testing on what he thinks is the cure.
With flash backs of what happened to his family to his dog wondering into a dark building and a room full of infected is right in front of him, I Am Legend provides for some great suspense, action, and scaring the crap out of you. All through the movie there was no music in the background, just Robert Neville trying to survive day by day, him coping with not being able to talk to anyone and not being able to hear someone say hello to him.
After seeing I Am Legend yesterday and having a day to think over it, I really like this movie. Will Smith shows another side in his acting abilities. It really is a great movie all the way until the credits roll, you will be on the edge of your seat wanting to see what happens. I Am Legend lived up to the hype and Will Smith just put another epic movie in his list. I highly recommend seeing this flick.
