Movie Review: TMNT (Ninja Turtles)
The story is about the four brothers being on a break from crime fighting and saving the world. Splinter (voiced by Mako) is the "father" of the Turtles, their sensei or trainer. Splinter sends Leonardo, the turtle with the blue bandanna, off to South America where Leonardo is to stay and train to become a better leader for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. As Leonardo is off training the other three brothers, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael are trying to live out normal lives. Splinter has deemed none of them fight crime while their leader is off training, so the three get everyday jobs to pass the time wondering if they will once again saving the world.
Leonardo arrives back in New York just in time before certain monsters come and reek havoc through out the city. This is where the character of Winters (Patrick Stewart) come in. Winters is a tycoon of all industries who is on the quest to obtain 4 statues of his long lost brothers 3,000 years ago. Once all the statues are in his captivity he unleashes his super powerful family members upon New York City to find the 13 monsters that have plagued the earth for 3,000 years now. All through the movie you'll notice little kid humor and I found myself chuckling every now then. Something goes horribly wrong and thats when the Turtles and their team come into play.
If your thinking this is a lot of "stuff" going on in a story you are right. As I watched this movie it was quite confusing at times with so much happening at once. The movie isn't even an hour and half long, all of this action was, I think, condensed to much. When the movie ended I felt as if it could elaborate much more on basically everything.
A great movie to just lose yourself to after a long week. An even greater one for the kids. Overall a good fun adventure movie.
