Movie Review: Trade
Starts out down in Mexico City with a kid named Jorge. He is in the "traveling" business, which means he screws over tourists for their money and other belongings. Jorge has a sister that just turned thirteen. Her name is Adriana, a pretty girl indeed. One day while riding here bike she was abducted, she was then brought to a house getting ready to be shipped out as a sex slave.
Then there is the Russian tourist named Weronika. She has arrived into Mexico to get across the U.S. border to have a better life. She soon realized that the people who were going to help her get across the border, actually ended up abducting her. She ends up being taken to the same house as Adriana.
From here the two are on a disturbing ride to New Jersey where they are auctioned off to the highest bidder. All the while Adriana's brother Jorge, has set out to find his little sister. Along the way he befriends Ray Sheridan. (Kevin Kline) These two vow to find and save the little girl along with whom ever else is in the nightmare.
This was a surprising look into a world that I never knew existed. The trafficking of humans is disgusting enough, but auctioning them off as sex slaves is even worse. Trade has opened my eyes to what could really be happening in this world. As a movie goes, other than an awesome soundtrack, Trade is decent. Nothing really special in anyway. A good flick to watch while bored.
