Movie Review: Superbad

By PRyck
This would be the second time I have watched Superbad and it still makes me laugh all the way to the ending. From the beginning credits with the funky music and the dance routine I was hooked. Yet another Judd Apatow movie was great this year. With the block busters Talladega Nights, Knocked Up and now Superbad, Apatow has diffidently made a mark.

The whole premise of Superbad is two friends named Seth (Jonah Hill) and Evan (Michael Cera) who are always together and with each other through high school. Superbad begins two weeks before graduation and both of the character have yet to get laid. Their whole goal and basically the whole movie is of them trying to get laid and have experience of getting laid before college. To Seth, the only way to achieve this goal is by going to a party they have been invited to and also they have been in charge of bringing the boozes. This is where the character of Fogell (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) comes in, also known as "McLovin." You will have to watch the movie in order to find out how he gets the name "McLovin." Fogell ends up getting a fake ID which allows the boys to purchase the drinks for the party and in return hopefully getting laid.

Superbad is a ridiculously over the top dirty movie. Foul language being spit all over the place. Sexual references easily every 5 minutes of the movie. Jonah Hill did a great job as the fat kid who gets picked on. Same goes for Michael Cera who did a great job as the laid back cautious Evan character. The two actors had a noticeably good chemistry being able to pull this wonderfully funny movie off. Jonah Hill (Seth) has some hilarious rants also to laugh uncontrollably at.

By far Superbad is the best comedy of the year. It is relatively close to what all high school males are like through those horrible four years. If you want a no brainer of a movie and want to laugh non stop check out Superbad and all other Judd Apatow movies for that matter, but keep the kids away.
