Movie Review: War
Jason Statham plays a special agent named, Jack Crawford who has been on the chase for a mysterious assassin by the name of Rogue (Jet Li) for a long time. Rogue always has used titanium bullets and there is always some laying on the ground after a kill, leading Crawford to hits on both the Triads and the Yakuza. It ends up Rogue had got word to kill Crawford's best friend and partner, Tome Lone (Terry Chen).
Upon arriving at Lone's house and seeing it burnt to the ground, Crawford found the ever present titanium bullet. He knew it was Rogue who had done this and he set out to avenge his friends death. Crawford was always one step behind Rogue, thus he doesn't catch him. All the while Crawford has been searching for him, Rogue has been doing double business for the Yakuza and Triad gangs. By doing this, Rogue starts a gang war in San Fransisco between the Chinese and Japanese gangs, creating havoc and for some really cool action scenes. By doing this the two gangs slowly eliminate themselves. This would be a clue to the bombshell of a twist.
With all the gang war there begins to be a story of deceit and lies. Corruption in the police department and in the gangs themselves. All trying to avenge each other by attacking the other. As the movie goes on the characters of Crawford and Rogue begin to unravel, leading to a major twist.
War for the most part was an entertaining movie. The story line and twist were really good, to bad the film is considered a low budget compared to the blockbusters out there. Otherwise the movie would have been much better with some real actors that can do dialog. The action is intense and the story makes you want to find out just what happens and how it leads up to the conclusion. War is a movie that makes you think and entertains you at the same time, therefore I recommend it.
