Movie Review: The Game Plan
The Game Plan is about a football player named Joe Kingman (The Rock), a character full of himself, selfish, a bachelor and has everything a man can desire, oh and huge endorsements. A guy who idolizes Elvis also known as "The King."
At the beginning of the movie it seemed to be promising, showing the life of a star and what comes with it. Then the kid comes into play. Played by Madison Pettis, is the character of Peyton Kelly. (I couldn't stand this girl.) This little girl just shows up at poor Joe's door laying out the news to the football pro. Like all guys would do, Joe quickly denies anything about having a kid and then calls up his agent, Stella Peck (Kyra Sedgwick) to get some damage control.
Once it is confirmed that this kid is really his, Joe tries to keep it on the low down from the media. During this time his team is in the play offs and this type of distraction could ruin their chances of going to the championship game. The press eventually finds out and Joe slowly becomes the father figure, at the same time losing the bachelor status as well as his coolness.
Game Plan looked promising, but this goody goody, heart warming family flick quickly turned boring and endless to me. I am ashamed of The Rock and this movie because it is nothing like his past movies and over all it was rather pointless. All through out this flick there was this Disney type music playing and characters acting stupid in hopes of some laughs. In the end all failed. The Rock has a famous quote, "Do you smell what The Rock is cooking?!" Honestly I did and it was terrible.
